October 4th is Approaching Fast!

Hey folks, we admit it’s been a bit quiet over the past month or so. This summer thing got in the way a bit and seems like things are busier this year in our “day jobs”. BUT, things are starting to heat up and we’re committed to ProductCamp Toronto being a great experience for us all.

Here’s what we’ve been up to. We have more people involved this year in helping! This is awesome! Folks are helping us with getting the venue ready, finding sponsors (know of any?), getting the word out through blog posts, tweeting etc. Thx.

I’ve asked the organizing team to leave a comment below that:

  • Introduces themselves.
  • Tells you what area they are leading in.
  • Where they need help!

Some other really important things for you to know:

  • You can register for ProductCamp Toronto here.
  • You can submit a session topic, vote and comment on others here

Here’s something to get you going! A recent Globe and Mail article by Konrad Yakabuski is enough to stir some debate and conversation. Is there an innovation gap in Canada? Aren’t the products and services we bring to market innovative? Are our methods of developing products and satisfying the needs of our customers innovative? Let the debate begin. (By the way, we invited Konrad to come to ProductCamp Toronto, he loves the idea of PCT but can’t make it).

I’m Chris Herbert (@b2bspecialist on twitter) and I’m one of the crazy dudes that brought PCT to Canada. Thanks for your support and attending.

I’m focused on getting the word out, getting some publicity and finding some folks you want to meet to chat with and lead an opening panel conversation around innovation and canada. We think this topic is particularly relevant since we believe we are innovators. But, is there some truth to the fact that there are not enough Canadian companies known for being innovative? Where are the future RIM, Nortels and ofcourse Tim Hortons!

If you know of someone who could join a panel who has a strong opinion let me know. Bring your thoughts and ideas on this subject.

I’m Siobhan McLaughlin and I work at Bell Canada in Product Development.

Last year, I found ProductCamp inspiring, educational and alot of fun. After such a great experience, I wanted to help put this year’s event together.

If you would like to volunteer at this year’s productcamp, let us know. We are particularly looking for note takers for each session.

    Thanks!
    Siobhan

I’m Chris Gurney, and I was excited to work with Chris Herbert, Lee Garrison, and the rest of the team on making ProductCamp Toronto a reality, last year. My focus has been on setting up productcamp.org and the PCT site. My overall aim is to help productize the ProductCamp concept, in general.

I look forward to seeing you at PCT 2009!

    Cheers,
    Chris.
